In Reflection

Looking back on days past,
Seeing the world in a brighter light,
I regret my cowardice in love.

Observing today I know what I have missed,
Understanding how unfortunate I truly was,
I had let love slip by.

Now I am bound by my own past,
Never to cross it again,
Forever marked by the old.

Longing to go back in time,
To go back to right my wrong,
To go back for you.

Yet now my spine is weaker still,
I have no courage,
Reflection of the past shall forever be my baggage.
